The IPI growth rate compares the latest week's index with the IPI's average over the past year. In the week ending Feb. 7, the JOC-ECRI index inched 0.0129 point above the previous week to 126.9150. The rate is in dollars and based on a full 40-foot containerload, excluding terminal-handling charges in Hong Kong. Spot stability: The Feb. 10 average spot market rate from Hong Kong to Los Angeles was $2,086 per FEU, the year- to-date high that has remained sequentially stable with the prior four weeks. While $400 or 23.7 percent above the mid-December 2013 low, the average spot rate was $450 or 17.7 percent below the same week last year, which was the 2013 high, and $795 or 27.6 percent below the Drewry record high of $2,880 per FEU of Aug. 6, 2012. IMC-brokered highway shipment revenue in December was a 2013 record average $1,475 per load, $30 or 2.1 percent above the November yield, but $24 or 1.6 percent below the December 2012 yield. The average December IMC intermodal yield was a 2013 record $2,909 per load, $42 or 1.5 percent above November and $237 or 8.9 percent above December 2012. The average monthly IMC highway yield was $1,434 per load in calendar 2013, off 1.6 percent year-over- year, while the average IMC Intermodal yield was $2,740 per load, 4.5 percent above calendar 2012 results.
