This index was $114 or 9.2 percent above year-end and $76 or 5.9 percent above the Oct. 16, 2009, base rate of $1,279 per TEU. Comprehensive SCFI* The Feb. 13, 2015, SCFI comprehensive reading was 1,088.28 points, rising 0.96 points or just 0.1 percent above the week before and 39.40 points or 3.8 percent above year-end, but 6.55 points or 0.6 percent below a year ago. This index was 88.28 points or 8.8 percent above the Oct. 16, 2009, base of 1,000 points. To U.S. WEST COAST base ports* Second week up: The Feb. 13, 2015, U.S. West Coast base port average spot rate was $2,265 per FEU, rising $23 or 1 percent above the week before and $207 or 10.1 percent above year-end. This index was $224 or 11 percent above a year ago and $834 or 58.3 percent above the Oct. 16, 2009, base rate of $1,431 per FEU. To U.S. EAST COAST base ports* Index record: The Feb. 13, 2015, U.S. East Coast base port average spot rate was $5,049 per FEU, rising $71 or 1.4 percent above the week before and $551 or 12.2 percent above year-end. This index was $1,686 or 50.1 percent above a year ago and more than double the Oct. 16, 2009, base rate of $2,439 per FEU. To NORTH EUROPE base ports* Third week down: The Feb. 13, 2015, North Europe base port average spot rate was $1,003 per TEU, dropping $54 or 5.1 percent below the week before and $82 or 7.6 percent below year-end. This index was $376 or 27.3 percent below a year ago and $229 or 18.6 percent below the Oct. 16, 2009, base rate of $1,232 per TEU. SCFI - SHANGHAI CONTAINERIZED FREIGHT INDEX n Shanghai export average spot rates for the following four trade lanes are among the 15 component trade lanes in the weekly SCFI — Shanghai Containerized Freight Index produced by the Shanghai Shipping Exchange and weigh 57.5 percent of the SCFI comprehensive reading. Prior to Chinese New Year, the Feb. 13, 2015, SCFI comprehensive reading was 1,088.28; while sequentially flat it was 39.4 points or 3.8 percent above year-end.
