Although organic growth increased, the changes in the rank- ings reflect a significant number of consolidations. XPO Logistics vaulted onto the list in 2014 for the first time, after a series of nine acquisitions — including New Breed Logistics, Pacer and 3PD — helped to raise its revenue by 235.8 percent, from $702 million in 2013 to nearly $2.4 billion last year.
