REPORT
THE WORLD'S 50 largest logistics companies generated nearly
$248 billion in revenue last year, up nearly 5 percent from
2013's $237.4 billion, according to Pittsburgh-based research
and consulting firm SJ Consulting Group.
Although organic growth increased, the changes in the rank-
ings reflect a significant number of consolidations. XPO Logistics
vaulted onto the list in 2014 for the first time, after a series
of nine acquisitions — including New Breed Logistics, Pacer
and 3PD — helped to raise its revenue by 235.8 percent, from
$702 million in 2013 to nearly $2.4 billion last year. Norbert
