March 2015 cargo traffic throughput at Hong Kong International Airport totaled 364,000 tons, 8.2 percent below March
2014, attributed mostly to a 16 percent year-over-year plunge in exports. As Chinese New Years was in February this year
and in January 2014, perhaps the best metric is the combined first-quarter 2015 HKIA cargo volume, just over a million
tons and 2.9 percent above first-quarter 2014 results. HKIA cargo traffic in calendar 2014 was a record 4.4 million tons, up
6 percent year-over-year.
