The July 10 index was $504 or 40.6 percent below year-end, down $830 or 53 percent year-over-year, and $542 or 42.4 percent below the Oct. 16, 2009, base rate of $1,279 per TEU. The last time this index was above its base level was Feb. 13, 2015. Comprehensive SCFI* The July 10, 2015, SCFI comprehensive reading plunged to 666.02 points, losing 79.43 points or 10.7 percent below the week before, although 109.30 points or 19.6 percent above its record low 556.72 points of June 19, 2015. This index was 382.86 points or 36.5 percent below year- end and 434.13 points or 39.5 percent below a year ago. The July 10 index was 333.98 points or 33.4 percent below the Oct. 16, 2009, base of 1,000 points. The last time this index was above this base level was Feb. 27, 2015. To U.S. WEST COAST base ports* Post-gain reversal: The July 10, 2015, U.S. West Coast base port average spot rate was $1,280 per FEU, $141 or 9.9 percent below the week before, although $51 or 4.1 percent above the record low $1,229 per FEU of June 26, 2015. This index was $778 or 37.8 percent below year-end, 544 or 29.8 percent below a year ago and $151 or 10.6 percent below the Oct. 16, 2009, base rate of $1,431 per FEU. The last time this index was above its base level was June 5. To U.S. EAST COAST base ports* Post-gain reversal: The July 10, 2015, U.S. East Coast base port average spot rate was $2,812 per FEU, $139 or 4.7 percent below the week before, $1,686 or 37.5 percent below year-end and $786 or 21.8 percent below a year ago. This index was $373 or 15.3 percent above the Oct. 16, 2009, base rate of $2,439 per FEU. This index reached its record high of $5,049 on Feb. 13, 2015. To NORTH EUROPE base ports* Post-gain reversal: The July 10, 2015, North Europe base port average spot rate was $699 per TEU, sequentially plunging $180 or 20.5 percent, although $494 or 241 percent above the record low $205 per TEU of June 19, 2015. This index was $386 or | 35.6 percent below year-end, $603 or 46.3 percent below a year ago and $533 or 43.3 percent below the Oct. 16, 2009, base rate of $1,232 per TEU. The last time this index was above its base level was Jan. 23, 2015. SCFI - SHANGHAI CONTAINERIZED FREIGHT INDEX n Shanghai export average spot rates for the following four trade lanes are among the 15 component trade lanes in the weekly SCFI — Shanghai Containerized Freight Index produced by the Shanghai Shipping Exchange and weigh 57.5 percent of the SCFI comprehensive reading. Post-gain reversal: The July 10, 2015, SCFI comprehensive reading was 666.02 points, sequentially plunging 79.43 points or 10.7 percent while losing 434.13 points or 39.5 percent year-over-year.
