GLOBAL LOGISTICS PROFILE As president and CEO of FedEx Trade Networks Inc., a subsidiary of FedEx Corporation based in Memphis, Tennessee, Jack Muhs is responsible for the leadership and strategic direction of the company. FedEx Trade Networks is a leading provider of global transportation services, value-added logistics solutions and comprehensive customs brokerage services. Before his appointment to FedEx Trade Networks, Muhs served as senior vice president of U.S. international, global planning, engineering and trade services for FedEx Express, where he was responsible for the company's U.S. export business, as well as the planning and engineering of the FedEx Express global network. While there, he directed five key strategic areas: U.S. import and export, system form, freight management, international planning and engineering and global trade services. Additionally, he provided strategic direction to FedEx global customs clearance to ensure international service regulatory compliance. Since joining FedEx in 1984 as a flight coordinator, Muhs has also served as managing director of global operations control. Following that appointment, he became vice president of global network planning and operations control in 1998. He is a four-time recipient of the FedEx Five-Star Award, the company's highest award for individual leadership and contribution. Muhs holds a B.B.A from the University of North Dakota and an M.B.A. from the University of Memphis. He is an active contributor to his local community, having served as the revenue chairman for March of Dimes Walk America, co-chairman of United Way of the Mid-South and on the Memphis Oral School for the Deaf board of directors.
