The October 2015 ISM manufacturing material imports index sequentially tumbled 3.5 percentage points to 47 percent and into contraction, exiting its expansion position held since February 2013. ISM U.S. manufacturing customers' inventories index vs. ISM U.S. manufacturing inventory index While in its third month in expansion, the October 2015 ISM customers' inventories index sequentially tumbled 3.5 percentage points to 51 percent, nearing contraction. The October 2015 ISM manufacturing inventory index tumbled 2 percentage points to 46.5 percent in its fourth month in contraction. ISM U.S. manufacturing price index vs. ISM U.S. manufacturing backlog of orders index The October 2015 ISM manufacturing price index sequentially gained 1 percentage point to 39 percent while remaining in contraction since November 2014. The October 2015 ISM backlog of orders index sequentially advanced 1 percentage point to 42.5 percent while in contraction since June. ISM U.S. new manufacturing orders index vs. ISM U.S. manufacturing inventory index The October 2015 ISM new manufacturing orders index sequentially jumped 2.8 percentage points to 52.9 percent, remaining in expansion since December 2012. In its fourth month in contraction, the October 2015 ISM manufacturing inventory index declined 2 percentage points to 46.5 percent. n ISM monthly U.S. manufacturing index vs. ISM U.S. production index The October 2015 ISM PMI (Purchasing Managers' Index) sequentially dipped 0.1 percentage point to 50.1 percent, nearing contraction. The average PMI in the last 12 months was 52.7 percent, with a November 2014 high of 57.6 percent and a October 2015 low of 50.1 percent. The PMI has been in expansion since January 2013. The October 2015 ISM production index sequentially gained 1.1 percentage points to 52.9 percent. The production index has been in expansion since September 2012. n ISM monthly U.S. supplier deliveries index vs. ISM U.S. production index The October 2015 ISM supplier deliveries index sequentially inched forward 0.2 percentage point to 50.4 percent in its third month in expansion. The October 2015 ISM production index sequentially advanced 1.1 percentage points to 52.9 percent. The production index has been in expansion since September 2012. U.S. MANUFACTURING
