This index was $615 or 49.6 percent below year-end, $326 or 34.2 percent below a year ago, and $653 or 51.1 percent below the Oct. 16, 2009, base rate of $1,279 per TEU. The last time this index was above its base level was Feb. 13, 2015. Comprehensive SCFI* REVERSED THREE-WEEK DOWNHILL TREND: The Nov. 27, 2015, SCFI comprehensive reading was 535.22 points, 51.08 points or 10.6 percent above the record low of the week before. This index was 513.66 points or 49 percent below year-end, 414.43 points or 43.6 percent below a year ago, and 464.78 points or 46.5 percent below the Oct. 16, 2009, base of 1,000 points. The last time this index was above its base level was Feb. 27, 2015. To U.S. WEST COAST base ports* $14 ABOVE RECORD LOW: The Nov. 27, 2015, U.S. West Coast base port average spot rate was $936, $14 or 1.5 percent above a week ago at record low $922, while $969 or 50.9 percent below a year ago. This index was $1,122 or 54.5 percent below year-end, and $495 or 34.6 percent below its Oct. 16, 2009, base rate of $1,431 per FEU. To U.S. EAST COAST base ports* $11 ABOVE RECORD LOW: The Nov. 27, 2015, U.S. East Coast base port average spot rate was $1,699 per FEU, $11 or 0.7 percent above the record low $1,688 of the week before. This index was $3,350 or 66.3 percent below its record high of $5,049 of Feb. 13, 2015, $2,799 or 62.2 percent below year-end, $2,379 or 58.3 percent below a year ago, and $740 or 30.3 percent below the Oct. 16, 2009, base rate of $2,439 per FEU. To NORTH EUROPE base ports* MOVED TOWARD DOUBLING IN WEEK: The Nov. 27, 2015, North Europe base port average spot rate was $554 per TEU, sequentially jumping $259 or 87.8 percent, and spiking $349 or 170.2 percent above record low $205 per TEU of June 19, 2015. This index was $531 or 48.9 percent below year-end, $185 or 25 percent below a year ago, and $678 or 55 percent below the Oct. 16, 2009, base rate of $1,232 per TEU. The last time this index was above its base level was Jan. 23, 2015. SCFI - SHANGHAI CONTAINERIZED FREIGHT INDEX n Shanghai export average spot rates for the following four trade lanes are among the 15 component trade lanes in the weekly SCFI — Shanghai Containerized Freight Index produced by the Shanghai Shipping Exchange and weigh 57.5 percent of the SCFI comprehensive reading. SPIKED 10.6 PERCENT IN WEEK: The Nov. 27, 2015, SCFI comprehensive reading was 535.22 points, sequentially spiking 51.08 points or 10.6 percent above record low 484.14.
