"The oil and gas sector is going to remain
diffi cult, but we see very much rising activity in
the power sector," said Philippe Lejeune, head of
European industrial projects at France's Bolloré
Logistics. Bolloré is working on a major wind farm
project in Kenya (Lake Turkana) involving a series
of full vessel loads of turbines and equipment
from the Far East. The company has just clinched
another major logistics contract for the construc-
tion of a wind farm in Turkey.
Bolloré's strong focus on Africa should put the
company in good position for continued high project
shipment of power and related infrastructure across
the continent, Lejeune said. The company said its
research indicates international banks are com-
mitting about $3 billion a year in funding for power
generation and electricity grids in Africa through
2020.
