The IPI growth rate compares the latest week's index with the IPI's average over the past year. 2016 RECORD HIGH INDEX: Breaking 90 points for the seventh time and the seventh consecutive week since mid-September 2015, the JOC-ECRI Industrial Price Index for the week ending July 22, 2016, sequentially advanced 0.8258 point to a year-to-date record high 94.5261 points in its 55th week in double-digit index. SHEDS $325 FROM YEAR-TO-DATE HIGH: The July 25, 2016, average spot rate was $150 or 12.1 percent below the week before, $125 or 10.3 percent below the same period last year, and $325 or 22.9 percent below the 2016 record high $1,418 held for the first three weeks in January. May 2016 sales in the Americas dipped 0.1 percent from April, and plunged 15 percent year-over-year. In contrast, China led sequential growth in May 2016 sales, rising 3.1 percent; Japan led year-over-year growth, eking out a 0.4 percent gain.
