SEESAWS: The JOC-ECRI Industrial Price Index for the week ending April 27, 2018, was 110.17 as the index slipped 1.67 points from the prior week, when it rose to 111.84. The rate is 5.65 points below the 2018 high of 115.82 set Jan. 26 and 0.83 points above the year-to-date low. Total import and export TEU volume with year-over-year growth Container traffic at the Port of Barcelona rocketed in 2017, overcoming national dock strikes and political uncertainty over the independence movement in Catalonia. RISES AFTER FALL: The April 23, 2018, average spot market rate from Hong Kong to Los Angeles of $1,165 was down 2.2 percent or $26 from the prior week. The April 23, 2018, level is down $156 or 11.8 percent year over year.
